As for Emily's episode of Skins...

They did it this early in the season for a reason (rhyming!). If this had been episode 7, I would've declared Naomi to be the stupidest bitch in the universe, and then sworn off the show forever.

But it's episode two. They have time to fix this. While there are only six episodes left, in terms of timeframe, there's an entire year to cover still ahead. And a lot can happen in a year.

Naomi is scared, and an arsehole (a loveable one), but these are two things already established in s3. She's a runner, and Emily challenges her to stay.

Emily idolises Naomi to the point of stalking her, and they end up in something very public and very wonderful.

And you know, happiness is petrifying and some people just look for ways to fuck it up. Especially when they're young.

Teenagers make mistakes, god fucking bless them, but they do. Not all of them, but the ones in this series are quite marvelous at it.

Episode 3 of s2 I was convinced that Sid and Cassie wouldn't find their way back to each other, that Sid and Michelle would have great sex forever, and Cassie was doomed to suffer alone. And then, as things often do, Sid's idea of being with Michelle didn't live up to the reality of it, and he realised Cassie was who he'd loved all along.

Basically, I think the point of this whole thing (while Sofia can just fuck off and die alre-- wait, she did) is that people aren't perfect, and aren't always who you think they are or behave how you think they will. But people make mistakes, and love isn't about the good things, it's about everything. The good, and the bad. Hatred, love, forgiveness and hurt.

I don't even think they've loved each other yet, as much as they will and can.

I'm excited to see where it goes, in all honesty.
